As most of you know, track and field is much more than just getting out on the track and running. Gaining the edge on the competition is often done off the track rather than on it. The elite athletes in Track and Field events are almost always backed by an elite strength and conditioning program. Whether you are a shotput-focused power athlete or a 3200m specialist, there are a unique set of strength and flexibility demands at each event. Most of the training done at team practice is sport-specific but oftentimes is not individualized enough to help you reach the elite level due to large team sizes.
