FAQ

> Services > Running Analysis > FAQ

How long does a running analysis take?

Most running analyses will take between 1-1.5 hours to complete. This includes the medical consultation, physical assessment, treadmill video analysis, review of findings, and form adjustments. You should be able to run for 10 minutes continuously on a treadmill at an easy pace to be able to participate in a running analysis.

What should I bring with me?

You should come wearing clothes you would normally run in, preferably in a tighter fit to allow our physical therapists the ability to see key landmarks while performing the video analysis. We encourage you to bring in your previous pair of running shoes as well if you have not been running in your current shoes for more than a month.

What should I expect after the running analysis?

Since we address not only your running form but also your strength expect to have specific activities to enhance muscular strength, endurance and power to improve your performance. Additionally, you will likely have a prescription to progressively incorporate form changes into your current running routine to reduce injury risk as changes are made.

How often do I need a running analysis?

As our running change frequently changes, we recommend that you complete multiple running analyses within a four month time frame following your first to ensure form changes are adopted appropriately and adjustments are made to further improve performance. Following the first round of running analyses, you should only need another running analysis if you begin having various aches and pains during runs later in your journey.

How does this running analysis differ from one I can get from my local running store?

This running analysis is conducted by specialized physical therapists who will not only look at your running form but also assess strength, flexibility, and power to understand where the weak links in the chain are. If you having pain while running this can help you to address your concerns with a medical professional and get you back to the activity you love.
